Digital Health Officer (Clinical)

Looking for an outstanding Psychologist, AOD Counsellor or Mental Health Nurse with a passion for Digital Health to join our team!

Work within our innovative Clinical Team, and the wider HSM team to achieve clinical outcomes for our members looking to change their relationship with alcohol. Reporting to our Chief Clinical Psychologist , you’ll get a chance to work in clinical digital health service delivery and project based work associated with our current and upcoming services.

You’ll support and implement our digital health programs including coordination of our health coaching services. You’ll also get to conduct online health services  appointments and maintain a client caseload. You’ll work on service improvement and evaluation including the administration, research and implementation of best practice for digital health service delivery. You’ll contribute to the development of clinical content and processes for current and future clinical products and services as required.

You’ll demonstrate a positive and creative approach to your role, as well as a willingness to get stuck into all tasks and work within a multidisciplinary team flexibly and adapt to changing demands in a small not for profit organisation. Key responsibilities:

  • Clinical Service Delivery – support and implement digital health programs and services maintaining a client caseload as well as working with the team to manage clinical risk of our members.  Help create systems and processes to ensure high quality and safe care
  • Service Improvement & Evaluation – including support administrative functions associated with clinical service, evaluation and quality control activities.
  • Contribute to clinical data collection processes (survey design, implementation, and preliminary analysis).
  • Contributing to reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work within the digital health project team to test and review new features, products, and programs for a successful release.
  • Understand relevant industry trends, clinical advances and changes in practice for alcohol and mental health.

About You:

  • It is essential that you are a Registered Psychologist, registered Mental Health or Allied health professional or registered mental health nurse
  • It is preferred that you have experience in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • You’ll have strong attention to detail and time management and organisational skills
  • You’ll have the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Experience in a clinical or research environment (preference: digital mental health and/or AOD treatment)
  • You’ll have a strong interest in Digital health

  • It would also be desirable if you have experience translating clinical content and evidence-based interventions into the digital health setting and / or clinical experience working in an AOD treatment setting.

Our Full Stack Developer builds & maintains products that empower our membership to live healthier and rewarding lives. This includes work on Hello Sunday Mornings’ flagship Daybreak smartphone application and other online tools to help people with the way they use alcohol.

We are looking for someone who can prioritise well, communicate clearly and has a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering skills. We build tools and systems to complement our available products to empower our clinical team in their interactions with members, making a difference to peoples lives everyday.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Champion our values Pioneering, Empathic, Authentic, Respectful and Supportive and work within our team code of conduct
  • Write structured, tested, readable and maintainable code.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
  • Manage your work through the use of Github, Jira, and our CI/CD systems.
  • Aid in the testing of our code and the delivery of what we create to production.
  • Our stack includes Golang, AWS, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker and Kubernetes (Ideally you have this experience but its not essential for the right person)

About You:

  • 2-4+ years of software development experience with cloud applications preferably AWS.
  • 3+ years working with ReactJS framework to develop smartphone applications.
  • 2+ years working in Go.
  • 3+ years using/building REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • 3+ years experience in relational databases preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture.

Desirable but not essential

  • Experience building digital health products.
  • Previous work with compliance and regulations including, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
  • Planning and development of event-driven architectures.

Online Community Moderator/ Peer Support Moderator

About the Role:

Our Online Community Mod monitors our App Daybreak’s peer support community to ensure that the community remains a safe and supported space for its members. You’ll be responsible for guiding member behaviour in the community to be supportive of our community Guidelines.

This role would be suitable for someone with prior experience as an online community moderator in an online health and support community/ experience in the mental health sector or a student who is in their second or third year of a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field. 

This role is part-time, 26 hours per week, ideally spread out over Monday to Friday.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Monitor discussions in the peer community for clinical and organisational risk and escalate to the clinical team where appropriate
  • Monitor discussions in the peer community for possible breach of community guidelines
  • Contribute to discussions in the peer community
  • Respond to member-generated reports regarding incidents in the peer community
  • Correspond with members who require service referrals or support
  • Liaise with Daybreak’s tech team to assist with the resolution of member registration, password reset, username change, and any other issues that may arise

About You:

  • Currently undertaking or have completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social work, health,  nursing or related discipline or prior experience in a similar role
  • Effective at planning, organising and time management
  • Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards vulnerable populations
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Self starter; working well independently as well as in a team
  • Be tech savvy and confident multi-tasking across multiple windows and programs

Data Engineer

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll transform data to assist the organisation to understand how to better serve our members, change their relationship with alcohol, solve problems and develop a culture of continual improvement. You will define, implement, and provide ongoing maintenance for data modelling initiatives at HSM!

We are looking for a Data Engineer who thrives on engaging with a diverse group of people and is looking for an organisation that is making a difference to the lives of our members. The preference is for part-time hours, however we are willing to consider other working arrangements for the right person.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Transforming, interpreting and reporting on data across the clinical, technical and fundraising areas of the organisation
  • Building data pipelines for analytics solutions.
  • Performing day-to-day data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
  • Writing and optimizing complex queries using both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Building dashboards for various business stakeholders.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Data science or a relevant scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in data science/engineering or related field 
  • Strong experience in providing visualisations of data and building dashboards.
  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, databases, ETL and data warehousing/data lakes within AWS environment.
  • Experience working with AWS data technologies (Athena, Quicksight, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and track multiple streams of information in a dynamic, technical, rapid growth environment
